Family And Collaborative Law

The family and collaborative law group of Marcus & Shapira has a team of lawyers who provide services in the areas of divorce, custody and support. Our approach to family law allows the client to choose whether to litigate in the traditional manner or alternatively, to enter into a Collaborative Law process. The Collaborative Law process offers a different option to divorcing couples and divorced or unmarried parents struggling with ongoing conflict. In the Collaborative Law process, the parties are given the opportunity to resolve their own issues in a positive environment, using a cooperative approach. The parties and their attorneys agree not to go to court or threaten to go to court during this process. Rather, the parties and lawyers participate in creative problem solving techniques to resolve their issues and enter into a mutual agreement. One of the many benefits of the Collaborative Law process is that it preserves family bonds and relationships which are especially important when children are involved.

We are committed to providing options and alternatives to our clients, whether it is through focused litigation or the Collaborative Law process.
